DANIEL - TAYLOR

On Thursday morning, 5th November, at "Boxdale", Brookstead, the residence of Mr and Mrs J.A. Taylor, a very pretty wedding was celebrated when their youngest daughter, Francis Hazel, was married to Alfred John, son of the late Mr and Mrs E. Daniel, of Pittsworth.  The ceremony was unique, in that it was the first to be celebrated in that district, which took place in spacious drawing room.

The couple stood under an arch of greenery and roses, from which was suspended a large floral wedding bell which contained a quantity of rose petals, and showered the bride and bridegroom during the ceremony.  Rev. Beagrie journeyed from Greenmount to perform the ceremony.

The bride, who was given away by her father, looked most charming in a bridal gown of satin charmante, made on straight lines with a handsomely beaded front panel.  Tiny hand made pink roses caught up the short sleeves, and she wore the customary bridal wreath and veil.  The exquisite bouquet was of pale pink roses.

Miss Audrey Hicks, Warwick, a niece of the bride, was in attendance as bridesmaid, wearing a pretty frock of apricot coloured georgette, with flared side panels.  Streamers of cream georgette hung from the shoulders and were knotted at the back.  Her cream crinoline hat was trimmed with ribbon the same shade as her frock, and a floral spray to tone.  She carried a posie of cream and pink columbines tied with cream ribbon streamers, and wore a gold armlet (the bridegroom's gift).

Mr S.L. Taylor supported the bridegroom.

The guests were entertained by the bride's parents at a sumptuous repast, when the usual congratulatory toasts were proposed and honoured with music.

Mrs Taylor, the bride's mother, wore a handsome gown of black brocaded satin, with a hat to match.

The reception was held in the large dining hall, which was decorated with dainty pale coloured streamers, caught in the centre by a basket of beautiful flowers.  The table decorations were carried out in pale blue and white.  The main feature of the bride's table was the beautiful three-tiered wedding cake, which was decorated most artistically by Miss Neta Lindenberg, Pittsworth.

The presents were numerous and costly and included several substantial cheques.

Mr and Mrs Daniel later motored to Toowoomba, en route to Sydney and the Blue Mountains where the honeymoon will be spent.

The bride travelled in a smart frock of mastic marocain, with shoes and hat to harmonise.
